The TIME WARP TRIO Web site (the "Site") is owned and operated by WGBH Educational Foundation. It is a complement to the TIME WARP TRIO TV series. It is designed to offer kids approximately eight years old and older fun, engaging history-related content. Much of the Site is humorous and is meant to inform and entertain in ways that will appeal to this age group. The Site strives to be factually correct, and where facts are in doubt, as they often are in history, to indicate that. It is designed for use in an informal setting, although schools may also find it a valuable addition to their classrooms.
As the Site develops, this Privacy Policy may be revised to reflect changes in the law, WGBH practices, or Site features. As a result, you should periodically review this Privacy Policy so you are up-to-date on our current policies and practices.
TIME WARP TRIO is produced by WGBH in association with Soup2Nuts for Discovery Kids. Major funding was provided by a grant for the National Endowment for the Humanities. Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this program do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Personal Data
The Site is designed so that you may participate in the activities without the need to supply personally identifiable information. If WGBH introduces communication features, such as a survey to ask what you think of the project, WGBH will only request non-personally-identifiable information (such as your first name, age, city/town, or state/province/country). If you write to us via e-mail, WGBH may reply, but WGBH will not store your e-mail address for the purpose of future correspondence. WGBH will not use such information for other purposes, or share your personal information with others.
Contests
From time to time, WGBH may run contests on the Site. WGBH may require an e-mail address to enter you in a contest, and will use that address only to notify participants of the winner(s). WGBH will not use the e-mail addresses for any other purpose. If WGBH knows you are under the age of 13 and WGBH needs to collect any information from you beyond an e-mail address in connection with contest entries — for example a home address to mail a prize — WGBH will notify a parent and obtain prior consent before obtaining this information. WGBH may ask you to provide your parent's e-mail address to notify your parent if you win. In the prize notification e-mail to your parent, WGBH may ask for a home mailing address to ship the prize, or invite the parent to call a telephone number to provide the mailing address.
Aggregated Data
In order to make the Site as good as it can be, WGBH will record which pages are more popular by looking at traffic logs. This data gives WGBH general information such as how long users spend on the Sites, what browsers they are using, and which sites they have come from. This information helps WGBH understand its audience, but is not matched in any way to personal data that WGBH may also receive.
Cookies
WGBH uses a small software file called a cookie to remember some user preferences or where individual users are within the Site. These cookies are optional, and refusing to accept them will not reduce enjoyment of the Sites. The user's cookie file lives on the user's machine, and can be deleted at any time by the user.
External Links Operated by Third Parties
The theme of this project is history, and WGBH has aggregated some links to external sites. These external links are operated by third parties that are not affiliated with WGBH. WGBH does not produce, maintain, or monitor these third party sites. The links are clearly marked, and are included as a useful resource. You should review the privacy policies of these third party sites for their policies and practices regarding the collection and use of personally identifiable information.
Change Future Use
This site is free and this project is privately funded. If, in the course of development, additional funding becomes available, or a commercial business model avails itself, WGBH will amend this privacy policy accordingly. WGBH will also update this policy if privacy legislation changes or if WGBH adds features, such as a contest, where additional personal data is required. For more information about privacy legislation governing Web sites for children, please visit the Federal Trade Commission's site at ftc.gov.
